Phase 1 of the Congress Avenue Urban Design Initiative is underway from Cesar Chavez Street to 7th Street in Austin, TX. Led by the City of Austin, this mixed-use project aims to enhance the area.

The project reduces 94 parking spaces and includes expanded sidewalks, pedestrian zones, and upgraded bikeways. It focuses on tree health, dedicated turn lanes, and storefront activation zones. Completion is slated for August 31, 2027.
