South Dade Transit Center Rises in Homestead
350,000 sq ft South Dade Transit Center in Homestead, set for 2026 completion.





The South Dade Transit Operations Center (SDTOC), a 350,000 sq ft facility, is under construction at Biscayne Drive & SW 127 Avenue in Homestead, Miami-Dade County, FL. Developed by Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works with architecture by Perez & Perez Architect Planners.
Features include solar power generation up to 750 kW, rapid charging for 100 electric buses, and a reclaimed water system for bus wash. Facilities encompass maintenance bays, mechanical shops, parts storerooms, loading docks, restrooms, showers, lockers, an employee lounge, training rooms, and a wellness center. Completion is slated for August 31, 2026.
Additional elements include a pedestrian bridge linking parking to maintenance, a bus service and wash building, security perimeter fencing, and native landscaping with over 45 plant species and parklets. Targeting Envision Gold certification.
